Much of my work this month revolved around sociological fieldwork and literature reviews. Inspired by ideas we were discussing in Sociology: Future Perspectives, I analyzed walls as lines endowed with corporeal authority. I wanted to empower people to break free of the walled confinement (in both a tangible and intangible sense) which I felt defined so much of our repetitive, hyper-optimized lives in the contemporary glocal city, and I wanted to use the organic non-linearity of the human body to accomplish this. Nostalgically, I remembered the biking trips I used to do, world-weary yet sentimental forays into the diverse, grounded locales of parks and neighbourhoods untrodden.
