In Gate 1, we performed a condensed version of the full thesis process wherein the professors introduced their "non-dominant perspective" and "designer-maker-user" frameworks for critical/speculative design. I picked Pokémon Go as my "artifact" of interest, and interspersed over several rounds of primary and secondary research, I iterated on tangible prototypes which explored diverse non-dominant perspectives on the mobile augmented-reality phenomenon—which I myself had picked up only months prior, catching Pokémon-souvenirs on exchange in Denmark.
