Our class was approached by Kabinescooter.dk, a Danish cabin scooter retailer, to reimagine their flagship product, the “Bach Delux,” for a youth demographic. Through market research and formal analysis of similar production and concept vehicles, our group settled on an archetype of personal mobility (discarding the antiquated “cabin scooter” name), with emphasis on young adult commuters (age 18-25) as well as broader market appeal. Then, following the focus of the course, we ideated and iterated extensively on the proposed exterior form of the vehicle, going through progressive stages of 2D and 3D development while taking into account client feedback and production limitations. The final concept, BEAN, emphasizes a sleek, urban, and postmodern aesthetic mixed with Vespa-esque storytelling which the client responded very favourably to.
